Dear Donor,
Did you know that in FORT WORTH (May 7, 2009) – One in five of all Texas children younger than 18 live on the brink of hunger. Texas leads the nation in the rate of child hunger with 22.1 percent, or 1.47 million, of its children being at risk of hunger. Nationwide, 17 percent, or 12.5 million children, are food insecure—unable to consistently access adequate amounts of nutritious food necessary for a healthy life.*
When I’m asked why we should care about what happens to the people in HEB, I think about the Johnsons. When the Johnsons first came to our area they were excited to plant new roots. New to Texas they immediately found a home in Bedford. Their 1-year-old daughter started daycare. Mom and Dad set out to work. Their future looked bright. However, as the economy changed and people began to hold on tight to money, Dad’s work slowed. As a web developer in the real estate industry, his money stopped coming in. The family was forced to choose between buying gas to get to work, their now 3-years-old daughter’s school or groceries.
Trinity Baptist Church Food Bank was able to provide groceries for the family. Dad was able to get a stable job. Now the family works with the food bank. They have an opportunity to share their story and God’s mercy.
Over 60 families each week, totaling more than 250 people visit our church’s food bank. This year, we have seen a dramatic increase of families in need. From monetary donations, our Church purchases food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank at a modest price. Still we run out of food and have trouble keeping up with demand.
Please consider helping God work through us to give the families of HEB hope during this tough economic time.
Your donation will be used to purchase supplies for our fundraiser. October 10, 2009 Trinity Baptist Food Bank is having a Spaghetti Dinner. Tickets will be sold in advance. Trinity Baptist Church will ask the community to pull together to help meet the need of our neighbors throughout HEB. We are trying to raise $2000.00. Any help (money, food items, supplies for Spaghetti Dinner) you are able to provide will help cut down the cost to hold such an event.
Sincerely,
Trinity Baptist Food Bank

The church will be holding the next council meeting on January 11th at 5pm. It is recommended for everyone to come.
We will begin a new study “Experiencing God” on Wednesday night, beginning Januray 7th. The books for this study are $15, but if you cannot afford one, one will be provided at no cost. Bro Micah will be leading this class.
Every week there will be a second identical class held on Thursday, so if you can’t make it on Wednesday, you can join us the next day!
The intermediate “Way of the Master” course will begin on January 18th to all who have completed the basic course. If you have taken the basic course and are wanting to go to the next level, please inform Bro. Henry so materials can be ordered in time for the new class.
If you have not yet taken the basic course of “Way of the Master”, but would like to, please inform the pastor so he can make sure that your materials will be available for when it begins as well.
